St. Charles Health System welcomes two new executives this spring. Michael Hartke will serve as the executive vice president and chief operating officer and Judge Jodie Mooney will serve as the senior vice president and chief legal and risk officer.
Hartke comes to St. Charles from Northwest Community Healthcare in Illinois, where he served as president of the organizations which includes a 500-bed hospital and more than 20 clinics. He has 25 years of health care leadership experience that includes roles supporting medical groups and physician practices and spent 10 years as chief operating officer for Northwest Community Healthcare, which is a part of Endeavor Health.
Mooney has served as a judge for the state of Oregon for 14 years, most recently as a member of the Oregon Court of Appeals. For seven years before joining the Bench, she led the risk management and compliance programs for PeaceHealth – Oregon Region. Mooney spent the first 17 years of her legal career as a trial lawyer in private practice in Eugene, with a focus on defending hospitals and physicians in medical malpractice cases. She will oversee the legal, compliance, risk and internal audit teams to ensure St. Charles is meeting the complex and ever-changing regulations affecting health care.
