Becoming a member of the Bend Chamber of Commerce isn’t just about a decal on the door or a certificate on the wall. It shows your support for and investment in a vibrant business community. It means you’re standing shoulder to shoulder with your peers who want to help protect the innovative and collaborative business environment that we enjoy through connections, advocacy, resources, and leadership.
Being connected is a must when it comes to growing a business and creating new relationships. We’ve got you covered on this front, too, with a number of events that facilitate connections with new people outside of your contacts list and help you maintain connections with folks you haven’t seen in a while.
Advocacy is a huge part of what we do and we do it on your behalf. Essentially, while you’re busy working your business, we’re busy looking out for you. From the state legislature to local government bodies, the Bend Chamber has a constant “finger on the pulse” of the issues that affect the business community. That includes your business. The Chamber brings your perspective to our elected leaders on how policies and legislation affect us in the business trenches.
By becoming a member, you add another voice and perspective to the chorus of businesses in the Bend area and increase our strength as an impactful group. Our numbers do matter. State legislators and local officials frequently look to the Bend Chamber for information directly from our membership and use this information to justify their voting positions. Bottom line, the more members we represent, the greater the influence we have on key decisions being made.
As just about every business is strapped for resources and can use some assistance in one area or another, we provide tools to help support your business needs. Here are some examples:
- Cultivating and hiring local talent – Youth Career Connect (YCC) Program
- Providing affordable health insurance to your employees – Chamber Association Group Health Insurance
- Saving money – Member to Member Discount Program
We believe that leadership development is a key component to creating and perpetuating a healthy business environment and community. We think of it as community succession planning. Leadership can take many forms and we provide programs that help individuals succeed in business and in serving our great community. Leadership Bend, for example, is our nine-month program that brings together individuals ready to understand 360 degrees of Bend and assume leadership roles in our community. Those who invest in this program share this commitment. LB Alumni include a variety of prominent business owners, CEOs, city managers, superintendents, executive directors, elected officials, industry leaders and professionals.
