ORW Architecture is celebrating the first anniversary of its Bend office with the expansion of the firm’s successful Pro Bono Design Grant program. Like the program that ORW has offered in Southern Oregon, the Pro Bono Design Grant will provide no-cost site planning and preliminary design services to Central Oregon non-profit organizations that serve children and families or that provide supportive housing to vulnerable populations.
After serving public- and private-sector clients in Southern Oregon for over fifty years, ORW Architecture decided to sink roots in the Central Oregon region, looking to build long-term relationships and give back to the community. ORW’s passion for projects that strengthen the community shows in the design of the Sanctuary Renovation for Sunriver Christian Fellowship and the Renovation of Crook County Fire Station #2 and exemplifies the firm’s core values of Community, Mastery & Collaboration.
ORW principal David Wilkerson leads the Bend office, supported by a growing contingent of full-time staff. Unlike architecture firms with a strong metro-Portland presence, ORW prefers to focus on smaller cities and towns, especially under-served and rural communities. As Wilkerson explained, “We are proud of our small-town roots, which we combine with the design and technical skills usually found in big-city firms.”
Non-profit organizations interested in applying for the 2024 Pro Bono Design Grant should email office@ORWarch.com for more information.
