Due to the ice storm last week, RootedHomes unfortunately had to cancel its scheduled ribbon cutting of Rooted at Poplar. The event is not able to be rescheduled because most of our homeowners are moving in. The virtual tour is available here. The silver lining is that seven families are moving into their first home! Each family moving into their 3-bedroom, 2-bath home is paying an average of $1,650 on their mortgage, 40% less than the average monthly rent of a 3-bedroom home. Homeowners will pay $12/mo. in their utility costs thanks to the net-zero design and solar panels on the home. Thanks to a partnership with the Bend Chamber, these families are made up of 100% local workforce, including employees from St. Charles Health System and Regency Pacific Management. Additionally, 71% of homeowners are first-generation homebuyers and 58% identify as Households of Color.
