 UPDATES:

On April 13th, the IRC hosted a town hall to share the latest on the application process for the Restaurant Revitalization Fund. They were joined by guests from the SBA, including Associate Administrators Patrick Kelley and Julie Verratti, and IRC members Nya Marshall (IVY Kitchen, MI), and Caroline Styne (Lucques Group, CA). As of March 30, the Small Business Administration (SBA) announced that they are eliminating the System for Award Management (SAM) registration process for independent restaurants and bars applying for the Restaurant Revitalization Fund (RRF) and they will no longer be required to have a DUNS number.

The newly passed American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) aims to help restaurants, bars and related businesses with a new grant program called the Restaurant Revitalization Fund (RRF). This $28.6 billion restaurant and bar grant program will be made available soon.

Members of the Independent Restaurant Coalition partnered with members of Congress to craft the legislation. While the Small Business Administration prepares to stand up the program, businesses should take steps to organize the materials necessary to submit an application once it is available.
