Higher Education Coordinating Commission Launches Consortia in Three Key Industries

Published on Oct 4, 2023

Earlier this year, the Oregon Higher Education Coordinating Commission and Oregon Workforce and Talent Development Board launched statewide consortia in three of our state’s key industry sectors – healthcare, manufacturing, and technology.

These Industry Consortia, a component of the historic Future Ready Oregon investment package, are comprised of representatives from industry, education, labor, and community-based organizations. They provide a forum for building partnerships that more deeply engage partners across Oregon’s workforce landscape in identifying opportunities and addressing sector-specific workforce development challenges.

Consortia will establish strategic partnerships, develop structured processes to address mutual industry goals, identify industry-specific workforce needs in this state, develop recruitment strategies to increase equitable participation, and promote workforce education and training programs and activities in these priority  industry sectors.

Each consortium meets quarterly; these meetings are held in person and are open to the public. Visit the Industry Consortia webpage to learn more, access past public meeting materials, and sign up for public meeting notices, or send questions to FutureReadyOregon@hecc.oregon.gov.
