The 2024 Federal Reserve Small Business Credit Survey is open for responses and we’re seeking your help in spreading the word to small businesses you work with. Small businesses are critical to the U.S. economy, but data on small businesses is limited—especially data on how and why small businesses seek financing. Through its annual Small Business Credit Survey, the Federal Reserve Banks capture one-of-a-kind data on small businesses.
Strong response rates in recent years enabled the creation of Firms in Focus, a series of chartbooks presenting Small Business Credit Survey data across various business and owner demographic characteristics, as well as by state and metropolitan statistical area (MSA).
By taking the survey, small business owners contribute to data that directly informs the Fed, federal government agencies, service providers, policymakers, and more. It takes about 12 minutes to complete and is open to for-profit businesses with fewer than 500 employees. Responses are confidential, and the survey is available in both English and Spanish. The survey closes on Friday, November 1st.
