The Latino Community Association has been working steadily toward establishing a Family Empowerment Center since 2012. Our sights have been on Bend because many more Latinos live in Bend than any of the other communities in Central Oregon where we have a presence. We share the new building with Abilitree, a fellow nonprofit and long-time resident at this location. Our new center is 5,700 square feet and includes eleven offices, a resource room/computer lab, board room, kitchen and a fairly large community room with an adjacent childcare room. We have invited other allied community partners to share the space and, so far, these include the Central Oregon Health Council, Bobadilla Law & Elemento Latino. The Community Room is available for community partners and the public to rent depending on availability
