The Workforce Housing Initiative, a key effort by the Chamber since 2021, ​has highlighted that the median home price in Bend has ​surged​​ ​to over $750,000, a price point that is increasingly prohibitive for many who work within the city. This has ​resulted​​ ​​in​​ ​a significant portion of the workforce, including those employed in ​essential​​ ​sectors such as healthcare and education, being priced out of the local housing market.  

​​With the generous support of foundations and grantmaking organizations​, including GoWest Foundation, Maybelle Clark MacDonald Foundation and Wells Fargo Charitable Foundation, the Chamber has succeeded in education, advocacy and community investments to address this pressing issue.
