http://www.familyaccessnetwork.org

In order to directly help local families affected by this global health crisis, FAN has created a COVID-19 Response Fund. This fund is being used by FAN advocates to connect families to food, utilities, transportation, and rental assistance. This fund will have a minimum of $50,000 to be used by December 31st, 2020 to help families stay afloat during this pandemic.

Our generous contributors include the Central Oregon Health Council, United Way of Deschutes County, Twin Peaks Foundation, Roundhouse Foundation, Sunriver Christian Fellowship, Knife River, Albertsons Companies Foundation, Central Oregon Intergovernmental Council, Central Oregon Rotary Clubs, Medline Foundation, Facebook, and WHH Foundation, as well as major gifts from several local individuals.

“During this challenging time, we are grateful to the many who are providing additional support to make sure that students and their families receive the assistance that helps kids be nourished and safe in their homes.” Julie N. Lyche, FAN Foundation Executive Director.

FAN services are essential for local kids and families struggling to get by throughout Central Oregon, now more than ever. With the closure of schools, FAN’s 25 advocates are working remotely and checking in with families in Deschutes, Crook, and Jefferson counties to make sure they are making ends meet during this crisis. In addition, new families are coming to FAN for help during this difficult time. These families are dealing with issues such as being laid off unexpectedly and no longer being able to afford basic necessities such as nourishing food, Wi-Fi for education, rent, and gas.

FAN is a long-serving organization that has been operating since 1993 and has earned the trust and respect of the local community. Since inception, FAN has served over 150,000 children and their family members. FAN is well-prepared and able to meet the COVID-19 pandemic by providing families with critical services that will help them weather this storm.
