Leadership Bend Class of 2018 Selections Announced

Program to Celebrate 25 Years of Graduates in Spring of 2018

Selections have been made for the Leadership Bend Class of 2018, a non-profit civic engagement and leadership development program of the Bend Chamber.  It is designed to identify, educate, engage and connect willing and committed citizens ready for various leadership roles and organizations who believe a healthy community comes from investment in leadership succession.

The Bend Chamber believes building leaders is necessary to community succession planning.  As one of the fastest growing regions in Oregon and the northwest, the issues have become increasingly more complex and the need for active leadership is great.

“It’s an honor to be guiding another class of emerging local leaders through this program and I’m excited to see the impacts they will have on this community,” said Jamie Christman, executive director, Leadership Bend. “After all, who will ‘pass the torch’ and continue to build upon what was already created by our pillars before us?”

Over nine months, participants will work with local leaders, programs and guest educators to expand awareness and understanding of the intricate challenges and opportunities facing the region.  The class will also facilitate, the Leadership Bend Impact Summit, a class project helping foster sustainability and the success of the non-profit community.
