Tony DeBone, Deschutes County Commissioner
Commissioner DeBone grew up in Berkley, Michigan and attended college at Northern Michigan University. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electronics Technology, Tony moved to Hawaii. He found a career at the highest peak of Haleakala working as a military contractor at the satellite tracking facility for Air Force Space Command and other research branches of the United States military.
While living on Maui, Tony met his wife Kathy, a Central Oregonian. They married and had their son Michael in Hawaii, then moved to Seattle, Washington for four years where Tony worked as an Associate Computational Scientist doing drug discovery research. The family moved to La Pine to seek a more rural lifestyle and to be closer to family.
Commissioner DeBone currently serves as the Board President of Economic Development for Central Oregon (EDCO), is the Ex-Officio Board Member of the Des Chutes Historical Museum/Society, is on the board of directors of NeighborImpact, and on the Project Wildfire Steering Committee. Tony’s term as Deschutes County Commissioner expires in January 2019.
