Melissa Parker

Nominated for  2017 Women of the Year Awards

Community Hero of the Year

Melissa has advocated for Bend youth, women, and homeless tirelessly. She currently holds two social work positions with phenomenal dedication and energy serving our marginalized populations. For The Oregon Health Authority, she coordinates housing for those living with HIV and AIDS in 21 counties. For Cascade Youth & Family, she oversees three grant-funded projects that offer interventions to street and trafficked youth. She contributes to an important task force charged with stopping human trafficking and raising awareness—the group includes the FBI, local law enforcement and other advocacy groups. Mel is the founder and farmer of Ladyhops, a small hop farm located in Powell Butte, OR. Our community is directly enriched by Melissa’s efforts.
