J Bar J Youth Services was established in 1968 as a working ranch for boys by the Jarvis & Jones families to provide a place for boys who needed support and redirection. Since that time the organization has become the home to a continuum of services that help kids restructure thinking errors, get through school on to college or a vocation and prepare for a happy, healthy future.
Offering innovative options for at-risk youth & families.
The programs include Big Brother Big Sisters, which pairs a mentor with a child, Grandma’s House, providing housing and support to pregnant and parenting teen moms, The Academy at Sisters, for girls that need assistance restructuring thinking and behavior and become capable women, Cascade Youth & Family, providing shelter, medical & dental services, counseling & employment assistance for homeless & runaway kids, J Bar J Boys Ranch & J 5 to help adjudicated boys restructure thinking & behavior, and the Kindred Connections program to help families care for their children during a family crisis and provide support to the family when reunited.
