Garrett Stephenson is Of Counsel in the Portland office of Schwabe Williamson & Wyatt. He has been involved in land use and development since 2006, first as an urban planner working with the City of Salem, later as a land use planning consultant, and finally as an economic development planner with Portland Development Commission. He became a land use attorney after receiving his law degree from Lewis and Clark Law School, working first with the Portland firm of Perkins Coie and recently joining Schwabe.
Garrett’s practice is focused on obtaining development permits for private clients, advising urban renewal agencies, and general municipal law. He is a member of the City Club of Portland Research Board, where he has advised research committees on major studies regarding affordable housing and the form of Portland’s government. He is also a member of the Oregon State Bar’s Real Estate and Land Use Legislative Committee.
