Equine Outreach Horse Rescue announces their second annual Harvest Haydown Oct. 1 from noon to 6 p.m.
The event, taking place at Equine Outreach Ranch, located at 63220 Silvis Road in Bend, is the Fall Festival Fundraiser for the horses and will help to cover the costs of winter hay. Admission will be by donation.
There will be something fun for everyone: kids’ activities, pony cart rides, face painting, horse demos, live music by Riley’s Range Benders and Appaloosa, food by Rico’s Tacos, Worthy Brewing beer, Tumalo Cider Co. hard cider, hay ride tours, a cake walk with your choice of prizes, Hank’s lucky lotto, artists/vendors, and fabulous silent auction items.
The official greeter will be Hank, Equine Outreach’s big, friendly Clydesdale horse. Hank and his caretaker, Tim, will be out front to say hello as you arrive. From noon to 2 p.m., Sheriff Shane Nelson will discuss Animal Law and the important work being done by Deschutes County. Throughout the day, board member and retired Veterinarian Dr. Larry Dresher will answer your questions about animal care.
