Central Oregon experienced a net gain of 3,790 jobs from April 2016 to April 2017, with the greatest gains in Deschutes County (+3,700 jobs). Unemployment continued to decline over the year. Deschutes County’s 3.6% unemployment rate was on par with the statewide rate of 3.7%, while Crook and Jefferson counties maintained unemployment rates above 5%.
