The Bend Chamber of Commerce in partnership with Mid Oregon Credit Union and Cascade Insurance Center will host the annual State of the City Address to its members and the business community at 10 Barrel Brewing on Tuesday, October 8.

Plan to join us as Mayor Sally Russell and City Manager Eric King speak on the state of transportation, review the city’s accomplishments over the past year, and provide a look ahead on upcoming city initiatives.

“Transportation is our top priority!” The City has heard a clear message from the community that transportation – such as traffic congestion and neighborhood street safety – are top concerns. Come listen to Mayor Sally Russell and City Manager Eric King discuss where we’re going with our transportation plans in Bend.

“Our community has been talking about transportation and neighborhood safety needs as long as I can remember. This Council has recognized and prioritized those needs within our two-year goals,” said Mayor Sally Russell. Watch a short video about these two year goal by clicking here or on the video below.

Understanding the civic value of the content of this event, we are offering 10 “scholarship” tickets at no-cost to non-member, general public guests interested in attending this event. You can sign-up for one of these tickets by contacting the Chamber  at chris@bendchamber.org. These seats will not include a beverage or food and are available on a first come, first served basis.

Parking at 10 Barrel:
There is additional parking north of the Pub building, as well as across the street, and along the shoulders of 18th St. But make sure you leave enough room near driveways for large truck deliveries. Do not park in “No Parking” or “Loading Dock” areas as your vehicle will be towed without prior warning.

Doors open for networking at 5 p.m. | Forum starts at 5:30 p.m. | Registration includes a tasty beverage and buffet!
Registration is $40 at the door.

Are there any vegan options on the buffet?

  2. Citizen says:

Regardless of your 20 “scholarship” tickets, the optics of paid access to our mayor is horrendous. Do this in a large venue for free or don’t do it at all. At the very least post an online Cliff notes version and include it with your social media ads.

The event is live-streamed on Facebook AND we post a full replay in its entirety on our YouTube channel… https://www.youtube.com/user/BendChamber

  3. Lee B says:

How does the mayor of Bend post this event on her FB page, and then as city residents have to pay to attend? I don’t need food or a beverage to listen how my city (that I pay taxes to) is doing. Am I missing something here?

    1. Garrett Jaenicke says:

We do have 20 free tickets available for the general public. Doesn’t include the food/beverage, of course, but you’re welcome to attend. Contact Chris Boyle at chris@bendchamber.org to reserve your free ticket.

  4. Dennis Douglas says:

I see the comment I posted protesting having to pay money to learn about City business has been deleted. How sad of you….

  5. Dennis Douglas says:

As a Bend resident I would like to attend the State of the City Address. But I feel I cannot because of the cost. I just want to listen, ask questions and offer a few suggestions, not drink beer and eat snacks. If there is a way to provide cost-free attendance (i.e., no food or beverage), please let me know.

    1. Garrett Jaenicke says:

Hi, Dennis. We do offer 20 “scholarship” tickets at no charge, which do not include a beverage or the appetizers. Contact Chris Boyle at chris@bendchamber.org to secure your ticket.
