COAR adds government affairs director

The Central Oregon Association of Realtors® (COAR) has hired Tyler Neese as the government affairs director for the association. Tyler will work with the COAR Government Affairs Committee on their policy positions at the local level, develop member advocates and work with local governments to ensure that the real estate industry in Central Oregon is represented. COAR advocates for the real estate industry by participating in all facets of the policymaking process. This includes representing the industry on various committees and stakeholder panels, meeting with local government staff and elected officials on important issues and providing testimony before city and county governments in Crook, Deschutes, Harney and Jefferson counties.

“We consider ourselves very fortunate to have such a well-qualified person to lead our association forward with a very important facet of our industry. One of the main focuses of our industry and our local association is to fight for and protect private property rights. We feel Tyler has the drive and the capacity to be at the helm for us in this position and look forward to introducing him to each community in the region,” said  2016 COAR President Dave Feagans.

Prior to joining the COAR team, Tyler was with the American Case Management Association (ACMA) for eight years where he served as director of public policy and communications. Based in Little Rock, Arkansas, ACMA is a national membership association representing health care delivery system case management professionals. Tyler helped build ACMA’s government affairs program and led the association’s federal public policy efforts – advocating on behalf of members with lawmakers and regulators and establishing ACMA as an influential presence in the health care arena. He holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations from Harding University and a master’s degree in communication from Southern New Hampshire University.
