Big R Farm & Ranch in Redmond is changing its name to Coastal

Big R Farm and Ranch will be phasing in its new name, Coastal, through Sept. 13.

For years the company has operated stores under separate names. With this change, all fifteen stores will have the same name.

“We hope this makes it a little less confusing for our customers,” said owner Buzz Wheeler.

The first Coastal store opened in 1963, serving farmers and ranchers in Oregon.

“Coastal is our heritage and a reminder that we’ve been fortunate to serve such great communities and people around the Northwest for almost 52 years,” said Wheeler. “You will continue to see the same employees in the same store with the same products. There is no impact on our customers or employees. Maintaining our high customer service continues to be our top priority. This name transition will be seamless for our customers.”

According to local store manager Robert Grinder, the name change has been endorsed by all of its top manufacturers, including Wrangler, Carhartt, Nutrena and Purina.

“Our manufactures, customers and staff are excited about the new name. Everyone is more committed than ever to supporting the local farm and ranch lifestyle.”
