The COVID-19 pandemic and associated closures continue to have a significant impact on businesses across Oregon. As businesses are allowed to re-open and employees come back to work, the Occupational Health and Safety Authority (OHSA) is proposing new regulations for Oregon workplaces.
Unfortunately, as drafted, these rules will create significant burdens for businesses. The public comment period is open through September 7, and we encourage you to make your voice heard. The Bend Chamber submitted a letter with our concerns, urging flexibility in the rules for businesses of all sizes. We know employers want to create a safe and healthy workplace for employees, but the draft rule proposal will be an additional burden.
