Volunteers in Medicine Clinic of the Cascades (VIM) has received an $11,000 grant from the Deschutes County Community Grant Program.
VIM contributes to community health and reduces the overall cost of healthcare for everyone in Central Oregon. Every aspect of care is provided by volunteers, with the support of a small team of staff who oversee clinic operations. This grant will provide 33 low-income, uninsured adults in Deschutes County with one year of comprehensive healthcare.
“We are very thankful for Deschutes County’s support,” said Kat Mastrangelo, executive director of VIM. “Together we are improving the health and well-being of at-risk families in our community.”
It is estimated more than 6,000 working adults still remain uninsured in the tri-county area. For more information call 541-330-9001 or visit www.vim-cascades.org.
