Local Red Cross disaster responders travel to flood zones in Louisiana and Mississippi

Eleven local disaster responders traveled to the South to aid in flood relief efforts.

Disaster responders from the local American Red Cross responded to the devastating flooding occurring in multiple states throughout the South after a torrent of more than 18 inches of rain fell.

Eleven responders from Vancouver, Salem, Bend, Wolf Creek and Mosier in the Red Cross Cascades Region traveled to Mississippi and Louisiana on March 14, to assist in the relief effort.

Red Cross workers provided shelter, meals, relief supplies and health and mental health services in Louisiana, Mississippi, Tennessee, Texas and Arkansas.
