Jill Haney-Neal’s Wild (but tasteful) Women Gallery is hosting a Wine, Women and Chocolate grand opening at their new gallery in Sisters at 207 North Fir Street, behind Cascade Fitness, on Friday March 4 from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m., and Saturday March 5 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Jill graduated from Oregon State with a BA in fine art, and did graduate work in sculpture with the late Fredrick Lipman, before moving to Olympia, where she not only displayed and sold her art, but taught accredited art classes at a local junior college. Her art has been a fixture in Central Oregon, starting with her landmark “Jill’s Wild (but tasteful) Women” boutique in downtown Bend, and now her gallery and studio in Sisters.
Jill’s art exaggerates the feminine to celebrate the universal spirit of women, transcending their cultural and ethnic backgrounds. “My challenge and goal as an artist is to joyfully celebrate the whole woman, and to capture the spirit of that moment with affection and humor….” The popularity of the “ladies” has led to a complete line of greeting cards and ceramic gift-ware, and is now being licensed for greeting cards in Russia. Numerous wineries have used her “Wild Tasteful Women” for decades on various bottles of wine, including one which has sold over 500,000 bottles nationwide.
Jill recently released her ABC Divas book, a whimsical tribute to wild, but tasteful, women, from A-Z. This is something fans have long been waiting for, and it has been selling briskly online and art and gift tradeshows across the country. You may have seen Jill’s “ladies” in Anthony’s Homeport restaurants throughout the Pacific Northwest where they playfully adorn the ladies rooms. Several hundred stores across the country sell her gift items and stationary, and her art prints are sold to galleries in 20 states, and countries as far away as Norway.
Come celebrate, shop and see all of the latest pieces, from fine art giclées, to ceramics, to “Wild Women” originals, from nationally-recognized, award-winning local artist, Jill Haney-Neal. 10 percent of sales will go to Bend’s Bethlehem Inn.
