FootZone announces prize money for first annual Bend Classic Mile

FootZone is excited to announce that footwear wunderkind HOKA ONE ONE has signed on as a major sponsor for Bend’s first annual Bend Classic Mile, a footrace that will pit some of the country’s best road runners against each other and the clock on a one mile loop through downtown Bend.

HOKA ONE ONE is providing $5,000 in prize money, to be divided among the top five men’s and women’s finishers.

The race will take place between the Pro 1-2 Women and the Pro 1 Men Twilight Crits of the Cascade Cycling Classic, guaranteeing an enormous, engaged crowd of 15,000 spectators for this inaugural event on July 23.  With Olympic qualifying events in Oregon in the weeks before and after the Bend Classic Mile, some of the country’s best runners are expected to participate.  The addition of an equalizer bonus promises to elevate the excitement, with men and women pitted against each other for a bonus prize.

The course will be a one-mile loop in downtown Bend. Registration opens May 1.
