The Family Access Network (FAN), a nonprofit that improves lives by ensuring all children in Deschutes County have access to basic-need services, announced it was awarded a $12,500 Community Impact Grant from New York Life.
The grant will support FAN advocate services in local schools, which will enable FAN advocates to connect 125 children in need to basic services, for one year, while keeping them healthy and in school.
“We are grateful for New York Life’s investment in FAN, which will change many lives for the better,” said FAN’s Executive Director Julie Lyche. “Without the support from New York Life, we wouldn’t be able to have a FAN advocate in the school that can refer a child or parent for dental work, job opportunities, clothing, rent assistance, childcare support, health insurance and more.”
“New York Life encourages our agents and employees to devote their time, energy and talents to making good things happen where we live and work,” said Robert Fincham Jr., an agent with the company’s Greater Oregon General Office. “We are pleased that our partnership with organizations like the Family Access Network can have a positive and lasting impact in our local community.”
