Basic Life Support tiered response system launches

On June 18, the Bend Fire Department began fully operating its new Basic Life Support (BLS) tiered response system.

“This program has already resulted in quicker response times, better station reliability and more appropriate resource allocation, in the month that it has been in partial operation,” the news release states.

Bend voters approved a Local Option Levy for the Bend Fire Department in May 2014 to implement effective ways to reduce response times, to increase reliability and to increase response efficiency.
